Decode Health Expands Program for Earlier Diagnosis of Neuroinflammatory Diseases

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Precision medicine research and development company Decode Health has expanded its neuroinflammatory disease program. The enhanced initiative analyzes multiple layers of biological data from a single blood sample, including various forms of RNA, and studies patterns across large patient populations. The goal is to enable earlier and more accurate diagnosis and improved monitoring of conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS).

The program aims to enhance the early diagnosis and monitoring of neuroinflammatory diseases, including MS and mimic conditions. The company utilizes machine learning to analyze seven biological layers from a single sample, incorporating stable and relatively unexplored circular RNA. This approach facilitates faster, more cost-effective analysis and helps identify new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets.

Decode Health will present its latest research at several industry conferences this fall. The joint ACTRIMS-ECTRIMS meeting in Toronto will feature research on circular RNA. The Association for Molecular Pathology's annual meeting in Seattle will share protocols for multi-layer readouts, and the HLTH conference in Las Vegas will involve discussions with health technology companies, payers, and health systems.

Published studies by the company have demonstrated the ability of its machine learning models to differentiate MS from neuromyelitis optica (NMO) with over 90% accuracy. Furthermore, the program can predict high-cost patients and monitor disease progression at a molecular level. Decode Health is also employing agent AI to accelerate analyses and ensure quality control.
