DeepSeek Halts Financing Round Amidst Leak Concerns
Chinese technology firm DeepSeek has temporarily suspended its second round of fundraising. The pause is reportedly linked to dissatisfaction over leaked information regarding founder Liang Wenfeng's comments.

DeepSeek, a Chinese technology company, has informed potential investors that it is suspending its second round of financing. The decision to halt the process was communicated verbally to some participants, who were told that investment agreements would not be signed in the coming days, according to Bloomberg.
The company had been seeking to raise capital at an estimated valuation of approximately 500 billion Chinese yuan (around $69 billion USD). DeepSeek had previously completed its initial funding round, which reportedly secured about $7.4 billion.
Sources suggest that a primary reason for the pause is founder Liang Wenfeng's displeasure with the circulation of information online. This leaked material allegedly pertains to statements he made during discussions with investors in the first funding round.
Reuters previously reported that DeepSeek was exploring the feasibility of an initial public offering (IPO) on Shanghai's STAR Market. The company has not ruled out resuming the fundraising process at a later date.
