DeepSeek releases open-source prototype for autonomous coding agent
DeepSeek’s Harness team has launched dsh-superagent, an open-source tool designed to automate software development tasks via GitHub.

DeepSeek has released dsh-superagent, an open-source research prototype designed to function as an autonomous coding agent. The tool processes development requests received through GitHub and Feishu, executing tasks in isolated sessions before returning results, such as pull requests, to the developer.
Built to operate within individual GitHub repositories, the system breaks down requests into discrete work items. It includes a web-based dashboard that monitors progress and alerts human developers when manual intervention or review is necessary. The project is released under the MIT license.
This initiative stems from DeepSeek’s internal research into reducing human oversight in repetitive coding workflows. By delegating complex or lengthy tasks to an agent, the firm aims to explore the feasibility of more autonomous software engineering cycles.
