DeepSeek Reportedly Nears $12 Billion Funding Round with Tencent, CATL Investment
Chinese AI firm DeepSeek is reportedly close to securing at least $12 billion in a new funding round. Investors mentioned include Tencent and battery maker CATL.

Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek is nearing the completion of a significant funding round, reportedly valued at a minimum of $12 billion (approximately RMB 80 billion). Technology giant Tencent and battery manufacturer CATL are among the key investors participating in the round.
The company had initially sought around RMB 50 billion ($7 billion), but substantial investor interest has reportedly pushed commitments beyond this target. Final figures could approach RMB 100 billion ($14 billion) based on signed term sheets, though details may evolve before the round's closure.
Following the financing, DeepSeek intends to undergo a corporate restructuring. This move is reportedly aimed at preparing the company for a potential initial public offering (IPO) slated for early 2027. DeepSeek has not officially commented on these developments.
