Deezer: Over 50% of Daily Uploads Are AI-Generated Music

Music streaming service Deezer has stated that more than half of the songs uploaded daily to its platform are generated by artificial intelligence. The company has been tracking the volume of AI music for the past year, observing a consistent increase.

In June 2026, Deezer recorded an average of 90,000 AI-generated tracks per day. This figure now represents over 50% of all daily uploads.

The rapid growth of AI music has prompted streaming services to assess its acceptable presence on their platforms. The industry lacks a unified approach. For instance, Bandcamp has banned AI-generated music, while Tidal has ceased its monetization. Apple Music employs a voluntary AI tagging system, and Spotify has established its own policy to regulate AI usage.

Deezer's new measure will include removing AI-generated tracks that have not been streamed in the past six months or are involved in fraudulent streams to inflate revenue. The company has previously been at the forefront of combating fraud and reducing payments.
