European defense technology firm Helsing has raised $1.8 billion in a funding round, valuing the German company at $18 billion.

German defense technology firm Helsing announced on Monday that it has secured $1.8 billion in a funding round, assigning the company a valuation of $18 billion. The significant capital infusion highlights growing investor confidence in artificial intelligence and software-defined defense capabilities.
The funding round saw participation from both new and existing investors, including JPMorgan Chase and venture capital firms such as Lightspeed Venture Partners and Iconiq. Helsing stated that investor demand considerably exceeded the available allocation, reflecting strong conviction in its technological approach.
Helsing, headquartered in Munich, develops hardware and software platforms for defense applications, leveraging AI and autonomous capabilities. The company produces systems like the HX-2 drones, which are reportedly being supplied to the Ukrainian military, positioning itself as a key European player in the defense sector.
This latest funding is intended to accelerate Helsing's mission to develop and integrate advanced AI platforms for its partner nations. The company operates in a market seeing increased investment, with U.S. rival Anduril also recently raising substantial capital, underscoring a broader trend of private sector interest in modern defense technology.
