Defense startup Indrajaal targets growth with AI-powered counter-drone systems

Founded in 2020, Indrajaal has developed an AI-driven architecture designed to identify and counter hostile drones. Its core platform, SkyOS, integrates data from radars, cameras, and radio-frequency sensors to coordinate automated defensive responses. These range from electronic jamming to the deployment of autonomous interceptor drones, specifically targeting military installations and critical infrastructure.

Indrajaal has already secured deployments with the Indian Army and various government agencies. Financial results indicate a jump in revenue from approximately ₹34 Cr in FY25 to ₹100 Cr in FY26, with an ambitious goal of ₹300 Cr by FY27. To support this growth, the company is preparing for a Series A funding round of ₹420 Cr to increase manufacturing capacity and fund international expansion into the Middle East and Europe.

Despite this traction, the company faces structural challenges inherent to the defense industry, such as long sales cycles and high working-capital requirements linked to government contracts. As competition intensifies, sustaining growth will require Indrajaal to transition beyond its current reliance on public-sector deals, broaden its portfolio for private enterprises, and scale its unit economics effectively.
