Defense Tech Firm Sanlayan Turns Profitable, Revenue Surges 5.7X

Bengaluru-based Sanlayan Technologies has achieved profitability in the financial year 2025-26, with its operating revenue surging 5.7 times to ₹125 Cr from ₹21.7 Cr in the previous fiscal year. The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹7.9 Cr, a significant turnaround from a net loss of ₹2.9 Cr in FY25.

The startup’s profitability was also bolstered by an exceptional gain of ₹9.5 Cr from the sale of immovable property. Sanlayan, founded in 2023 by former Zetwerk executives, develops electronic systems including radar, electronic warfare, and avionics. Its expansion strategy has involved both in-house development and strategic acquisitions.

Sanlayan acquired a majority stake in embedded systems firm Dexcel Electronics in January 2025 and a stake in defense power-electronics supplier Versabyte Data Systems in October 2025. These acquisitions have been central to scaling its portfolio across the defense electronics value chain.

The company's growth aligns with the Indian government's push for domestic defense procurement, with recent initiatives aiming to indigenize critical military technologies. Sanlayan also secured ₹186 Cr in Series A funding in June 2025 from investors including Ashish Kacholia and Jungle Ventures.
