DEHN adds lighting to inspection camera

DEHN, a company specializing in electrical safety technology, has introduced an updated version of its wireless inspection camera featuring an integrated LED lighting unit. This addition enhances the camera's usability in poorly lit environments, enabling visual inspection and documentation of electrical installations up to 123 kV and 15–60 Hz, even when the equipment is operational. The lighting module can be easily mounted onto the camera's housing.

The camera allows electrical technicians to inspect and document the condition of electrical equipment in real-time, reducing the need to approach potentially hazardous areas. Utilizing a WiFi connection and a smartphone app, images and videos are transmitted directly to mobile devices for straightforward storage and sharing. The tool is useful for reading equipment nameplates, identifying cracks in insulators, or assessing the degree of contamination on installation components.

DEHN emphasizes that the camera is designed for simple and safe operation, requiring no specialized training. Its flexible camera head and the ability to switch between spot and flood lighting make it suitable for confined and hard-to-reach spaces. When used in conjunction with DEHN's extendable insulating rods, adequate safety distances are maintained, ensuring the operator remains outside the danger zone.

The inspection camera system is supplied as a complete set in a case, with the LED lighting unit available as an optional accessory. This product update aims to improve the maintenance and safety of electrical installations by providing tools that mitigate risks and streamline inspection processes.
