DEHN establishes new production facility in Romania
Electrical safety specialist DEHN is laying the foundation for a new production site in Pitești, Romania. The facility will expand the company's European manufacturing capacity.

DEHN, a family-owned company specializing in lightning protection, surge protection, and safety equipment, has begun construction of a new production facility in Pitești, Romania. The expansion is driven by increasing global demand for DEHN's products, fueled by the electrification of energy systems, renewable energy expansion, electric vehicles, data centers, and other technological advancements.
The new Pitești site will be integrated into DEHN's existing global production network. The company recently opened additional production sites in Mühlhausen, Germany, and Mooresville, North Carolina, USA, to meet growing market needs. Pitești was selected after evaluating various European locations, with key factors including a skilled workforce, favorable site conditions, and sufficient space for development.
DEHN plans to invest approximately 10 million euros in the Romanian plant over the coming years. While DEHN's German facilities will focus on high-volume, highly automated production, the Romanian facility will concentrate on customer-specific, lower-volume surge protection products that require more manual assembly.
The construction phase is expected to last around 10 months. Production is scheduled to commence in mid-2026, with an initial workforce projected to be up to 150 employees.
