DEHN introduces new stainless steel connection head for railway earthing bridges

DEHN has launched a new connection head made of stainless steel to improve the performance of its earthing bridges used on electrified railways. This product innovation aims to increase the safety and lifespan of electrified railway lines.

The new component is designed to enhance electrical contact, provide more effective corrosion protection, and facilitate installation, thereby increasing the system's overall operational reliability and durability. Reliable earthing is essential for the safe operation of electrified railways, as it protects people and infrastructure by safely conducting short-circuit currents in fault situations, such as a broken contact wire.

Railway earthing bridges play a key role by establishing the connection between the internal earthing embedded in concrete and the external earthing. DEHN's new stainless steel connection head focuses on the reliability of the electrical connection. Optimized current transfer between the connection head and the conductor ensures a permanent and stable link.

The use of stainless steel offers high resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress. Furthermore, the connection plate's size has been increased, allowing for more installation options and providing added safety during concrete pouring. The component also includes integrated protection against twisting and pull-out, preventing the earthing socket from rotating or detaching during formwork removal.

The new connection head is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing systems and support standardized, continuous connection of all conductive components in the vicinity of railway tracks, contributing to the safe and economical operation of rail transport.
