DEHN introduces surge protection for high-power EV charging stations
DEHN has launched the DEHNguard M DC ACI 1250 FM, a new surge protection device specifically designed for high-power electric vehicle charging stations and fast chargers up to 1250 V.
As the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure accelerates, DEHN has introduced the DEHNguard M DC ACI 1250 FM. This new surge protection device is designed to safeguard high-power electric vehicle charging stations and fast chargers operating at voltages up to 1250 V.
The modular type 2 surge protective device features a protection level of 2.5 kV and a short-circuit rating of 100 kA, making it suitable for DC battery storage systems as well. The device complies with IEC 61851-23 standards. Its integrated ACI technology eliminates the need for external pre-fuses, thereby saving space within charging stations.
For operators and installers of charging parks, rapid commissioning and reliable, continuous operation are primary concerns. DEHN's solution reportedly simplifies the design process by removing the requirement for complex dimensioning of pre-fuses, selectivity, and connection cross-sections.
The pluggable modules are designed for quick and easy replacement if a fault occurs. Additionally, the device includes a floating remote signal contact that reliably indicates the status of the surge protector, facilitating straightforward remote monitoring.
