DEHN to showcase DC protection concepts at The smarter E Europe 2026
DEHN will present comprehensive lightning and surge protection solutions for direct current applications at The smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich, June 23-25, 2026. The company focuses on safety in the energy transition.

At The smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich, from June 23-25, 2026, DEHN will showcase protection concepts for the increasing use of direct current (DC) applications. The global shift towards renewable energies and decentralized power supply necessitates DC technology in areas like solar power, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The growing implementation of DC systems also elevates electrical safety requirements. Overvoltages from lightning, switching operations, or grid influences can impair systems, cause failures, or lead to fires. Direct current presents unique challenges, as DC arcs are more difficult to extinguish than AC arcs. DEHN addresses these issues with its patented ACI technology (Advanced Circuit Interruption), designed to manage DC arc interruption.
The company will exhibit a range of protection solutions covering solar applications for residential and industrial settings, as well as for ground-mounted systems, battery storage, and smart power grids. A highlight for e-mobility infrastructure is the DEHNguard M DC ACI 1250 FM, a modular Type 2 surge protective device designed for high-power charging (HPC) systems up to 1250 V.
DEHN aims to demonstrate how the energy transition can be realized safely and sustainably. The company emphasizes its 360-degree approach to protection. Beyond product innovations, the exhibition will focus on personal exchange and dialogue regarding technical challenges and regulatory frameworks.
