Deloitte Model: US Women's Health Market Sees $527 Billion Growth Opportunity

Deloitte has released an analysis estimating a significant growth opportunity within the U.S. women's health sector, projecting a potential market expansion of $527 billion by 2030. This growth is anticipated to stem from a shift towards proactive care, enhanced prevention strategies, and earlier detection of health issues.

The report, titled "How a $527 billion growth opportunity in women's health can improve health outcomes," suggests that adopting a proactive, life-stage-aware approach to healthcare could lead to a substantial increase in healthy lifespan for women, potentially by as much as 20 years. The analysis utilized modeling based on five years of medical and pharmacy claims data from nearly 60 million individuals.

Key areas identified where unmet needs and market demand are converging include brain and neurological conditions, pelvic, reproductive, and hormonal health, cardiovascular health and stroke, and musculoskeletal/autoimmune conditions. Deloitte suggests that earlier interventions in these areas, particularly during reproductive and midlife stages, could mitigate disease progression and reduce long-term chronic conditions.

"By increasing focus on proactive, life-stage-aware health interventions to address unmet needs, the health industry may add up to 20 years of healthy life span for women," said Kulleni Gebreyes, principal and U.S. life sciences and healthcare industry leader at Deloitte. The report also signals to investors and innovators in medtech, pharma, and digital health to scale platforms like continuous monitoring and early diagnostic technologies to drive sustainable investments and improve lifelong health journeys for women.
