Delta Gold Technologies plc, which focuses on intellectual property for quantum computing hardware, is advancing research into nano-scale gold materials. The company aims to address the critical challenge of qubit stability, a significant hurdle in current quantum computing systems.

The company funds university research and holds exclusive global licenses for the resulting intellectual property. The research explores two primary avenues: an electrical route utilizing engineered gold layers for topology-based coherence, and an optical route involving atomically precise gold clusters tuned by chemistry for spin properties.

"Nano-scale gold and other advanced nano-engineered materials have properties that are orders of magnitude better at hosting stable qubits than the alternatives under investigation," stated R. Michael Jones, Founder and CEO of Delta Gold Technologies.

Collaborations are underway with the University of Toronto, led by Professor Harry Ruda for electrical research, and Penn State University, led by Professor Kenneth Knappenberger for optical research. Delta Gold Technologies has filed multiple patent applications and targets industry licensing starting in 2028.

The company is listed on the Aquis Stock Exchange Growth Market in London (DGQ), the OTCQB Venture Market in the US (DGQTF), and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (O2J). Delta Gold Technologies seeks to resolve the trade-off between scalability and stability in quantum computation through novel material-based approaches.
