DelveInsight has published a new report providing an epidemiological forecast for Crohn's Disease (CD) in the United States, extending to 2034.
The report offers a comprehensive understanding of Crohn's Disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel condition affecting the digestive tract. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, and weight loss. While the exact causes remain unclear, genetic, immune response, and environmental factors are suspected contributors. In 2020, the United States recorded an estimated 825,165 prevalent cases of Crohn's Disease, with 591,368 diagnosed cases. DelveInsight projects growth in these numbers throughout the forecast period of 2025-2034. The age group under 44 years represented the largest segment in 2020, with 351,273 cases.
The research also segments cases by severity and treatment. In 2020, mild CD cases accounted for 236,547 individuals, while moderate to severe cases numbered 354,821. A total of 319,339 cases were treated in 2020, with expectations for this number to increase.
