Denso develops largest automotive head-up display
Automotive supplier Denso has developed the world's largest thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal head-up display (HUD) for vehicles. The nearly 24-inch display will be featured on the 2018 Lexus LS, launching in November 2017.

Automotive technology supplier Denso announced the development of a new thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal head-up display (HUD). The system projects driving information onto the windshield and is claimed to be the world's largest automotive HUD, with a nearly 24-inch projection area.
The display projects a virtual screen approximately three meters ahead of the driver, allowing access to key vehicle and environmental information without requiring the driver to shift their gaze. It can display basic data like speed limits and current speed, as well as pedestrian locations detected by external sensors and lane guidance for junctions.
The HUD is designed to be visible in bright daylight conditions and aims to avoid obstructing the driver's view. Denso has been producing HUDs since 1991 and continues to develop safety products as part of its goal to create a society free from traffic accidents.
