Depression Awareness Tour Stops in the Region
Participants of the "MUT-Tour" tandem journey, who have personally experienced depression, aim to raise awareness about the illness with a stop in Kirchzarten and an event day in Freiburg.

The tandem journey "MUT-Tour", whose participants have personal experience with depression, is making a stop in Kirchzarten and organizing an event day in Freiburg to increase awareness about the mental health condition. The initiative seeks to educate the public about depression, a condition affecting nearly 18 million adults in Germany annually, or more than one in four adults.
The tour's primary objective is to dismantle the stigma associated with depression and encourage open conversations about personal experiences. Participants will share their individual stories and information about the illness, offering peer support and encouragement to those struggling in silence.
The stop in Kirchzarten and the "Aktionstag" in Freiburg will provide opportunities for the public to engage with tour members, ask questions, and learn more about the symptoms, causes, and treatment options for depression. By hosting these events in the region, organizers aim to reach a wider audience and foster a more open dialogue surrounding mental health locally.
Depression is one of the most prevalent mental health issues in Europe, and its significance as a societal and individual challenge cannot be overstated. The "MUT-Tour" aims to improve recognition of the illness and ensure individuals seeking help can access it without fear of social stigma.
