Der Feinschmecker Honors International Wine Personalities at 2026 Wine Awards

German food and wine publication Der Feinschmecker, part of Jahreszeiten Verlag GmbH, will present its annual Wine Awards in Hamburg on November 14, 2026. The awards celebrate significant personalities and contributions within the international wine industry.
This year's recipients include Egon Müller IV, recognized for his pioneering work with sweet Riesling wines, who will receive a lifetime achievement award. German vintner brothers Steffen and Andreas Rings have been named Winemakers of the Year for elevating their family estate to a leading position in Germany. South African winemaker Eben Sadie will be honored as a "Wine Legend" for his impact on the global reputation of South African wines.
Additionally, Spanish vintner Jade Gross will receive the "Newcomer of the Year" award for her distinctive approach to Rioja wines. Two further accolades, "Gourmet of the Year in Wine" and the winner of the German Riesling Cup, will be announced at the event. The gala will take place at the Grand Elysée Hamburg hotel, with an estimated 450 guests expected.
The awards aim to highlight wine producers who exemplify craftsmanship, innovation, and quality. Chief Editor Gabriele Heins stated that the awards recognize both the excellence of the wines and the dedication of the individuals behind them. The gala will feature a culinary experience from renowned chefs, with the honored winemakers presenting their own wines.
