DeSimone Acquires India-Based ESS Detailing Services
New York-based DeSimone Consulting Engineering has acquired Mumbai-based ESS Detailing Services LLP. The move expands DeSimone's structural detailing and fabrication-ready modeling capabilities in India.
DeSimone Consulting Engineering, headquartered in New York City, has acquired ESS Detailing Services LLP, a structural steel detailing and modeling firm based in Mumbai, India.
The acquisition, made through DeSimone's India subsidiary, aims to enhance the company's integrated engineering services, fabrication intelligence, and digital project delivery from design through construction. It also establishes a platform for expanding DeSimone's multidisciplinary engineering services within India.
ESS Detailing Services brings nearly 200 employees to DeSimone, strengthening its capacity to serve India's growing construction and infrastructure sectors. Company CEO Stephen V. DeSimone stated that establishing a strong presence in India is a critical step in DeSimone's long-term global growth strategy.
ESS co-founders Arif Qureshi, Akbar Khan, and Aasim Hodekar will continue in leadership roles as DeSimone Principals in India. "By joining forces, we bring together our teams, experience, and capabilities to deliver greater value to our clients while creating new growth opportunities," Qureshi said. DeSimone Principal Ewen Dobbie added that the merger allows the organizations to operate as one global team, further integrating engineering with fabrication-ready digital delivery.
DeSimone's Fabrication Ready Modeling service involves collaboration between structural engineers and detailers to create fabrication-ready models during the design process. The firm has applied its integrated engineering and detailing services to projects such as the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music in New Jersey and the One Times Square Redevelopment in Manhattan.
