DeTect to Supply Bird Detection Radar to Jakarta Airport

DeTect has won a contract to supply its MERLIN™ True3D® bird detection radar system to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The agreement, announced recently, is intended to bolster aviation safety by identifying and tracking bird presence within the airport's operational areas.

The MERLIN™ True3D® radar system is designed to provide an accurate, three-dimensional view of bird flocks and individual birds. This capability enables airport personnel to better understand bird locations and movements, which is crucial for maintaining smooth and secure flight operations.

This deployment at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will also support the airport's wildlife control program. By precisely identifying bird activity patterns and locations, the airport can develop more effective strategies to minimize the risk of bird strikes.

DeTect's technology is currently employed at numerous airports worldwide, aiming to reduce aviation safety risks associated with bird presence on flight paths and runways.
