DeTect to Supply Bird Detection Radar to Jakarta Airport
DeTect, Inc. has been awarded a contract to supply its MERLIN™ True3D® bird detection radar system to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. The system aims to enhance wildlife control and provide real-time hazard alerts.

DeTect, Inc. has secured a contract to supply its MERLIN™ True3D® bird detection radar system to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The system is designed to improve flight safety by identifying and tracking bird activity near the airport.
The MERLIN system will be integrated into the airport's existing wildlife control program. It is intended to provide air traffic control and airfield operations with real-time alerts regarding potential bird strike hazards. This measure seeks to mitigate the risks associated with bird-aircraft collisions.
DeTect's technology utilizes radar to detect bird movements and generate a three-dimensional map of their activity. This capability allows for more precise monitoring and forecasting in critical air traffic zones. The deployment in Jakarta is part of the airport's ongoing efforts to bolster its safety protocols.
The agreement with Soekarno-Hatta Airport marks another international deployment for DeTect's aviation safety solutions. The company has previously supplied similar systems to other airports and defense organizations worldwide.
