Deutsche Bank and Unions Agree New 28-Month Deal for Postbank Employees

Frankfurt, Germany – Deutsche Bank has reached a new collective bargaining agreement with several trade unions, including ver.di, DBV, komba, and DPVKOM, covering Postbank employees. The agreement spans 28 months, from April 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028.

The deal provides for staged salary increases, with a €175 monthly raise for collective agreement employees effective July 1, 2026, followed by a 2.9% increase in July 2027. Apprentices will see total remuneration increases of €150 in stages. The bank stated this is intended to provide specific support for lower-income employees.

Beyond wage adjustments, the agreement extends protection against dismissal until the end of 2028. Binding agreements concerning branches and other operating locations have also been prolonged for the same period. Deutsche Bank indicated these measures aim to provide employees with greater security while preserving operational flexibility for its private client business transformation.

The bank stated that the agreement allows it to maintain focus on clients, innovation, and growth during the ongoing transformation of Postbank and its broader private client operations. Deutsche Bank confirmed that the agreement does not impact its financial outlook.
