Deutsche Telekom accelerates fiber-to-the-home rollout in Germany
Deutsche Telekom has begun providing FTTH connections to residential customers as part of its ongoing infrastructure expansion.

Deutsche Telekom is scaling up the deployment of its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network across Germany. The company, which has been investing heavily in fiber infrastructure since 2011, is now integrating the first residential connections into its service portfolio.
To manage the deployment, the company implemented a pre-selection process for expansion areas, aiming to align network construction with market demand. This approach is intended to optimize resource allocation in a highly competitive telecommunications sector.
Dr. Andreas Lischka, head of FTTx broadband program management at Deutsche Telekom, characterized the expansion as a critical investment in future connectivity. The rollout represents a major shift toward modernizing the nation's digital infrastructure, addressing the increasing demand for high-speed internet access.
