Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA Launch Major AI Factory in Europe

Deutsche Telekom, in partnership with NVIDIA, is establishing one of Europe's largest AI factories in Munich. The facility, scheduled to be operational by the first quarter of 2026, is expected to increase Germany's AI computing capacity by approximately 50 percent.

The initiative aims to strengthen digital sovereignty for Germany and Europe by providing domestic AI infrastructure. Deutsche Telekom CEO Tim Höttges stated that AI presents a significant opportunity for industry, emphasizing the rapid timeline for implementation: "In just six months, we turn an idea into real AI computing power, Made for Germany."

The AI factory will be powered by up to 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, creating a supercomputer with 0.5 exaFLOPS of processing power. This capacity will allow companies to develop and deploy their AI models and applications securely within a local environment. SAP solutions will provide the technology platform for seamless integration of these AI services.

Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA believe this domestic infrastructure is crucial given the evolving geopolitical landscape. The facility will support diverse applications, including the creation of digital twins, robotics development, and training of large language models. A partnership with SAP will ensure the "Deutschland-Stack," guaranteeing high standards of data protection and security.
