Deutsche Telekom Combines Fixed and Mobile Networks for Up to 500 Mbit/s
Deutsche Telekom introduces new MagentaZuhause Hybrid packages combining fixed and mobile network services. These bundles enable speeds of up to 500 Mbit/s without requiring a fiber optic connection.

Deutsche Telekom is enhancing its internet offerings with the launch of MagentaZuhause Hybrid tariffs, which integrate fixed-line and mobile network capabilities. This initiative aims to provide faster and more reliable internet access, particularly for customers not yet equipped with fiber optic connections. The new packages promise download speeds reaching up to 500 Mbit/s and upload speeds of 50 Mbit/s. For existing connections with 16 or 50 Mbit/s capabilities, the Hybrid technology can boost speeds to nearly 100 Mbit/s across much of the country.
The Hybrid system operates by automatically utilizing mobile network bandwidth when the fixed line's capacity is insufficient, such as during peak usage for streaming or gaming. This dual-network approach significantly improves performance and ensures service continuity. In the event of an outage on the fixed line, internet and phone services seamlessly switch to the mobile network, minimizing downtime and ensuring a stable connection.
To implement this technology, customers will use the Speedport Smart 4 router along with a dedicated 5G receiver. This weather-resistant receiver is typically installed externally or near a window for optimal signal reception and connects to the router via a flat network cable. The router then automatically configures itself for the Telekom network. An optional installation service is available for an additional fee.
As part of a promotional offer valid until September 30, 2025, the router and 5G receiver are included free of charge for the first three months, followed by a reduced monthly fee. New customers will pay an initial rate of 9.95 euros per month for the first three months, regardless of the chosen speed tier. Following this introductory period, the pricing aligns with comparable standard DSL tariffs.
