Deutsche Telekom confirms no T-Mobile US share sale in 2026

Deutsche Telekom, the German telecommunications giant, has stated it does not intend to sell any of its T-Mobile US shares in 2026. The company currently holds a 52.8 percent stake in its US subsidiary and confirmed the decision explicitly covers potential sales related to T-Mobile US's ongoing share buyback program.

The company welcomed T-Mobile US's reported strong results for the fourth quarter and full year 2025, along with its updated growth outlook. Deutsche Telekom indicated that T-Mobile US is continuing its growth trajectory and confirming the strategic direction presented at its 2024 Capital Markets Day.

"As the majority shareholder, we firmly support T-Mobile US's strategy focused on strong and sustainable earnings growth," said CEO Tim Höttges. He added that Deutsche Telekom plans no share sales in 2026 and is continuously reviewing opportunities to increase its stake if strategically sensible and financially attractive.

The telecommunications sector in the US remains highly competitive. Deutsche Telekom's decision not to divest shares signals confidence in T-Mobile US's performance and its strategy for continued market share growth and profitability.
