Deutsche Telekom Develops Platform to Identify IT Vulnerabilities
Deutsche Telekom has developed the "Fischfang" platform to help companies identify and assess IT system vulnerabilities in real-time.

Deutsche Telekom has introduced a new platform, named "Fischfang" (fishing), aimed at enhancing organizations' ability to identify and manage their IT security vulnerabilities in the digital landscape.
The platform addresses the growing challenge of cyber threats by assisting organizations in gaining a comprehensive overview of their IT infrastructure. "Fischfang" automatically creates an inventory of an organization's IT assets and continuously updates it, without requiring prior data about the organization. The system utilizes artificial intelligence to identify the company's unique characteristics, such as domains and certificates, ensuring that only relevant systems are identified.
When a software provider reports a security flaw, "Fischfang" can quickly analyze its databases to pinpoint systems using the affected software. This precision helps companies focus their security efforts effectively, avoiding false alarms and conserving resources. Deutsche Telekom is also developing strategies for automated system classification using machine learning.
The "Fischfang" platform is already supporting Deutsche Telekom's Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) in managing critical vulnerabilities. Additionally, it is used to review software for GDPR compliance and websites for proper cookie notifications and contact information. The company is also exploring applications for supply chain security.
