Deutsche Telekom Expands T Cloud Public with European Data Sovereignty Focus

Deutsche Telekom announced a significant expansion of its T Cloud Public cloud service. The company aims to establish a fully-featured, European data sovereignty-focused alternative to existing US hyperscalers.

According to Deutsche Telekom, T Cloud Public will achieve full core functionality parity with leading global cloud providers by the end of 2026. Currently, 80 percent of key capabilities are already available. The expansion includes scalable infrastructure services and AI solutions designed to compete with global players.

The company emphasizes that T Cloud Public will offer customers the ability to implement their AI strategies without dependence on foreign entities. The service also includes an automated migration tool and professional services to support customer transitions.

Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, CEO of T-Systems, stated that Deutsche Telekom is now offering "the best of both worlds": maximum functionality with European data governance. The goal is to create a digital foundation for a competitive Europe.

Deutsche Telekom is positioning itself as one of the few European players capable of offering a technological level comparable to global cloud services. The company asserts that the service is already more competitive than some offerings from major tech companies.
