Deutsche Telekom launches AI secretary for business calls

Deutsche Telekom has launched "Voice AI Notes," a new service designed to help small and medium-sized businesses automate the process of taking notes and documenting business calls. The aim is to free up employee time and attention by handling call summarization automatically.

The service utilizes Mistral AI technology and operates from European data centers within the Open Telekom Cloud, ensuring compliance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Deutsche Telekom emphasizes that conversation data is not used for training AI models, and all recordings, transcriptions, and summaries are deleted after creation and delivery.

Voice AI Notes automatically generates a structured summary of calls, separating speakers, extracting key points and action items, and can create calendar entries for scheduled appointments. The summary is then sent via email. The service integrates with the customer's cloud-based phone system (Cloud PBX) and can be activated, with participant consent, through the telephony app or a keypad code. An audible announcement informs all parties when AI note-taking is active.

Pricing for Voice AI Notes is set at 1.95 Euros (net, excluding VAT) per phone number per month. The service will be available for cloud PBX phone systems starting mid-September 2025. Deutsche Telekom is positioning this as a step towards supporting Europe's digital agenda and enhancing business competitiveness through automation.
