Deutsche Telekom Launches Christmas Campaign to Break Down Barriers
Deutsche Telekom has launched its annual Christmas campaign across ten European countries, aiming to foster connection and tolerance. The campaign emphasizes the importance of overcoming social barriers.

German telecommunications provider Deutsche Telekom has initiated its annual Christmas campaign, spanning ten European countries. The campaign's central message, "Connections begin when barriers break," seeks to inspire connection and remind individuals of the importance and possibility of finding common ground despite differences.
The campaign features a short film depicting a modern fairy tale about two young girls separated by a pane of glass, symbolizing societal divisions. Despite their physical separation, they develop a close friendship, illustrating how childlike openness and curiosity can overcome ingrained prejudices and societal tensions.
"As a brand, we want to connect people. We want to make it clear that it is important and possible to break down barriers in our minds," stated Ulrich Klenke, Head of Brand at Deutsche Telekom. He highlighted the company's commitment to social cohesion and tolerance, and its disapproval of hatred and discrimination.
The campaign commenced in Slovakia in early November and will roll out in other Telekom countries, including Austria, Croatia, Germany, and Poland. The Christmas advertisement will be broadcast in various formats on television and in cinemas. The initiative also includes locally adapted advertising materials for digital, social media, and in-store promotions.
