Deutsche Telekom Launches MagentaZuhause 2000 With 2000 Mbps Speed
Deutsche Telekom has introduced its new MagentaZuhause 2000 fiber optic connection, offering 2000 Mbps download and 1000 Mbps upload speeds. Pre-sales have begun in the pilot cities of Berlin and Gunzenhausen.
German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has launched its new MagentaZuhause 2000 fiber optic service for consumers. The offering provides data transfer rates of up to 2000 Mbps for downloads and 1000 Mbps for uploads.
The pre-sale phase for the MagentaZuhause 2000 service has commenced in the pilot cities of Berlin and Gunzenhausen. Deutsche Telekom estimates that approximately 100,000 households will be able to subscribe to the new tariff by the end of 2024.
According to the company, the new speed tier is designed to enhance online activities such as gaming, simultaneous streaming of Ultra HD content across multiple devices, and applications utilizing augmented and virtual reality. The 1000 Mbps upload speed is particularly highlighted for its potential to significantly speed up file transfers and improve remote work capabilities.
To utilize MagentaZuhause 2000, customers must reside in a fiber-optic expansion area where Telekom has installed XGS-PON technology and possess a compatible XGS-PON router. The monthly basic fee is set at 139.95 euros for a 24-month contract, which also includes a telephony flat rate to all German networks.
