Deutsche Telekom is set to launch its T Cloud offering in September 2025 at the Digital X event in Cologne. The service aims to strengthen Europe's digital independence by providing an alternative to reliance on foreign cloud services for European companies and governments.
The European Union's dependence on foreign technologies has been identified as a significant risk, potentially leading to unpredictable cost increases, disruptions to critical processes, and threats to intellectual property and sensitive data. T Cloud seeks to address this by offering European sovereign cloud services with varying levels of independence.
The T Cloud portfolio integrates solutions from various cloud platforms and services, including offerings from hyperscalers, consulting services, and Deutsche Telekom's own cloud infrastructures. Customers can choose data, operational, or technological sovereignty, or a combination thereof, based on their specific requirements. In partnership with NVIDIA, Deutsche Telekom will also introduce a secure cloud infrastructure focused on artificial intelligence starting in 2026.
Deutsche Telekom emphasizes that T Cloud provides security compliant with European standards, including GDPR adherence and transparency. The service includes 24-hour monitoring from certified data centers located in Europe. The company highlights that T Cloud enables businesses to maintain control over their infrastructure, data flows, and development without being tied to a single provider.
