Deutsche Telekom offers digital solutions for hotels

Deutsche Telekom is providing digital solutions to the hotel industry to help manage operations as establishments reopen under various restrictions. These services aim to minimize direct contact between staff and guests, as well as control the size of guest groups, thereby reducing the risk of infection for both parties.

The offerings come from goingsoft, a Telekom subsidiary. The digital solutions enable guests to find out about available seating in restaurants and allow staff to alert visitors about crowded areas, such as the reception. Room service orders and other hotel information can be communicated digitally via hotel TVs, displays, or guests' own smartphones.

Deutsche Telekom is providing high-speed internet access with WLAN capabilities, leveraging its fiber-optic network for speeds up to 10 Gbit/s, ensuring reliable video telephony and streaming for guests. The "HOTAINMENT" hotel information system allows hoteliers to inform guests about special offers or current health measures. Digital magazine formats are also available for smartphones, tablets, and TV sets, serving as a hygienic alternative to printed materials.

The company acquired IT service provider goingsoft in early 2019 to expand its portfolio of professional WLAN and multimedia solutions. These solutions are primarily used by hotels, campsites, and congress centers, but also by hospitals and healthcare facilities.
