Deutsche Telekom reorganizes leadership functions

Deutsche Telekom has announced a series of significant leadership changes as the company prepares for a generational transition at its executive level. The organizational shifts, set to take effect between October 2026 and May 2027, aim to strengthen the company's technological capabilities and integrate its digital platforms.

Chief Financial Officer Dr. Christian Illek is scheduled to depart the company in April 2027, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age. He will be succeeded by Dhananjay Mirchandani, who will assume the role of Board Member for Finance on May 1, 2027. Illek has held various leadership positions within Deutsche Telekom for two decades.

Jan Hofmeyr has been appointed as the new Board Member for Product and Technology, effective November 1, 2026. Hofmeyr brings extensive international experience from the technology sector, having previously worked at companies including AWS, Comcast, and Microsoft. His appointment is expected to enhance Deutsche Telekom's expertise in integrating networks, cloud services, AI, and digital platforms.

Mladen Mitic will take on the role of Chief Product & Digital Officer starting October 1, 2026. Mitic will report to Hofmeyr and will be responsible for driving product development and digital transformation initiatives. These changes signal Deutsche Telekom's strategic focus on deepening its technological leadership and adapting to evolving market demands.
