Deutsche Telekom to Operate Volkswagen Group's Private Cloud

Deutsche Telekom's IT service provider, T-Systems, has secured a major contract to establish and operate the Volkswagen Group's new Group Private Cloud 2.0. The infrastructure will serve as a central platform for applications across all of the automotive group's brands.

The Group Private Cloud is intended to complement the company's existing IT landscape and enhance its data processing capabilities within the European legal framework. T-Systems will provide Volkswagen with its T Cloud Private solution, which promises lower costs, greater flexibility, and increased control compared to public cloud offerings.

Volkswagen stated that the new cloud will strengthen its digital resilience and economic independence. T-Systems emphasized that T Cloud Private combines high security with compliance with European regulations. The service also grants Volkswagen Group access to T-Systems' Industrial AI Cloud infrastructure in Munich.

T-Systems' T Cloud Private is designed for companies handling sensitive data and business-critical applications. It offers full control over infrastructure, data location, and security standards, enabling compliance with strict regulatory requirements and improving protection against cyberattacks.
