9 October 2026

Deutschlandradio has published comprehensive guidelines for its social media channels, including platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These directives are designed to ensure respectful and factual interaction on the platforms used by Deutschlandradio and its programs, such as Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, for communication and audience engagement.

The guidelines emphasize the importance of a respectful and fact-oriented conversation culture. They explicitly prohibit hate speech, discrimination, insults, and the posting of comments that promote illegal content. Advertising for products or campaigns, as well as publishing personal data without consent, are also forbidden.

Deutschlandradio also reminds users of the varying privacy standards of social networks and provides a link to its own privacy policies. All comments posted by users are their own responsibility, and Deutschlandradio reserves the right to remove comments that violate the rules and, if necessary, to temporarily or permanently block users.

Furthermore, Deutschlandradio states that its moderation may include the removal of comments not written in German if their content cannot be immediately verified with reasonable effort. The media organization aims to maintain a safe and constructive online environment for all its users.
