Developers Replicate Apple's iPhone Duo Animation on Android, Mac, and iOS

Multiple developers have successfully created animations that replicate the unique opening and closing effect of Apple's recently released foldable iPhone Duo. These replications have emerged across different platforms, including Android, macOS, and iOS.

On the Android platform, a user identified as u/moomanjohnny has developed an animation for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. This solution utilizes the device's hinge sensors to achieve a visual effect similar to that demonstrated by Apple's device, sparking online discussion.

For macOS, developer adrianabelarde_ has achieved a comparable result, implementing the effect based on the opening and closing motion of a MacBook screen. This demonstrates the adaptability of the animation across computing hardware not inherently designed for folding.

On Apple's own iOS platform, developer Elijah Semyonov has shared the DuoLikeAnimation project on GitHub. This open-source solution uses SwiftUI shaders and Core Motion technology to simulate the iPhone Duo's animation on iPhone devices. The project offers a pathway for other developers to explore and integrate similar visual effects into their own applications.
