DFRobot Launches Compact and Durable Barometric Pressure Sensor
DFRobot has introduced the SEN0666 Fermion barometric pressure and temperature sensor, utilizing the Bosch BMP585 MEMS chip. The sensor is designed for demanding, space-constrained applications.

DFRobot has launched the SEN0666 Fermion barometric pressure and temperature sensor, distributed by Mouser Electronics. This industrial-grade module is designed for applications where space is limited and durability is essential, targeting devices like smart wearables, micro-drones, and portable GPS trackers.
The sensor integrates the Bosch BMP585 MEMS chip, offering laboratory-level absolute accuracy of ±0.3 hPa. It supports I2C, SPI, and I3C communication interfaces, making it versatile for integration into various systems. The compact form factor, measuring 19mm x 16mm, addresses the need for miniaturization in modern electronics.
A key feature is the sensor's resistance to water, humidity, and chemicals, achieved through a proprietary gel-filled cavity. This enhanced protection allows for reliable operation in harsh environments. The device also boasts an ultra-low sleep current of just 2μA, contributing to extended battery life in portable equipment.
Potential applications for the SEN0666 include precision altitude hold and obstacle avoidance for UAVs, environmental monitoring in high-humidity outdoor settings, and as an altimeter for sports technology devices. It can also be used for indoor floor detection and hydrological measurements based on pressure changes.
