dhpg advised civitec on its merger with regio iT, creating the largest municipal IT service provider in North Rhine-Westphalia. The transaction took effect on January 1, 2020.
The consultancy firm dhpg has advised civitec, a special-purpose association for municipal IT processing, on its merger with regio iT. This fusion establishes the largest municipal IT service provider in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, employing approximately 630 staff.
civitec transferred its business operations to regio iT effective January 1, 2020, through an asset deal. In return, civitec acquired additional shares in regio iT. dhpg provided advisory services for the due diligence process, company valuations, and contract negotiations, covering legal and tax matters.
The newly formed regio iT, headquartered in Aachen with additional offices, offers public sector clients strategic and project-based IT consulting, integration, IT infrastructure, and full-service IT support.
Based in Siegburg, civitec has served as a partner for public sector clients in IT processing for over 45 years. dhpg has been a long-standing legal, audit, and tax advisor to civitec.
