Diablo 4 Director: Game Should Have Launched on Nintendo Switch 2 Sooner
Diablo 4 Game Director Brent Gibson expressed satisfaction with the game's arrival on Nintendo Switch 2, while admitting the launch could have happened earlier.

Diablo 4 Game Director Brent Gibson has confirmed the latest installment of the Diablo series has finally arrived on the Nintendo Switch 2. Porting such a large and demanding game to a handheld console presented a significant technical challenge.
Gibson commented in a TechRadar interview that a Nintendo platform release had been desired for some time. He admitted that early in the project, the team doubted its feasibility due to the game's scope and complexity. "The team that took on this task did an incredible job," Gibson stated.
During the porting process, certain compromises were necessary to ensure Diablo 4 could run effectively on the Switch 2's more limited hardware. However, Gibson emphasized that these adjustments are nearly imperceptible, and the final result closely meets player expectations for a handheld version. The game reportedly runs smoothly and displays clearly on the console's screen.
Addressing concerns about Diablo 5's development and potential future release, Gibson assured that support for Diablo 4 will continue. He likened the situation to someone holding a sign proclaiming the end of the world in Times Square – the end is not immediately at hand, and the developers have future plans.
