Digia acquires digital marketing firm Avalon to boost customer experience services

Digia Oyj has agreed to acquire Avalon Oy, a company focused on digital marketing and customer experience development. The agreement was signed on September 20, 2022, and the transaction is expected to be completed on October 1, 2022.

The acquisition of Avalon is intended to enhance Digia's role as a comprehensive digitalization partner. Avalon's expertise in data and analytics for customer experience development complements Digia's existing strengths in business and design consulting. The combined entity aims to deliver greater value to clients in digital services.

Avalon's client base includes companies such as Canon, iLoq, and Stora Enso. The company employs 24 professionals across its Helsinki and Oulu offices. Following the acquisition, all Avalon employees will be integrated into Digia's Intelligent Solutions business unit. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or its impact on personnel. Avalon Oy reported net sales of approximately EUR 2.4 million in 2021.

Digia stated that the integration will enable the provision of enhanced data-driven, real-time customer experience solutions utilizing artificial intelligence. Avalon's CEO, Petri Laakso, will lead the new business area within Digia, and the company will continue to operate under the Avalon brand as part of the Digia Group.
