Digia Appoints Harri Suni to Lead Growing Defence Unit, International Expansion

Digia Plc has appointed Colonel (ret.) Harri Suni as Director of its Defence business unit, effective September 16, 2024. This appointment is part of Digia's strategy to grow and internationalize its defence sector operations, responding to increasing global demand for digital security solutions.

The Defence unit, which is part of Digia's information and high-security solutions business, employs over 200 experts. The unit provides diverse solutions for defence and security sector actors, with the Finnish Defence Forces as a key long-term partner. Under Suni's leadership, the unit will focus on developing its offering and identifying new national and international business and cooperation opportunities.

"The security environment has changed rapidly and permanently. Digitalization and new technologies are transforming societies and impacting national security. Information management is critical. There is genuine demand for Digia’s expertise and innovations, and I want to promote this in my new role," stated Harri Suni. Suni joins Digia from A.T. Kearney, where he served as a defence advisor, bringing extensive experience from leadership roles within the Finnish Defence Forces and defence administration.

Digia highlighted that Suni's background includes significant leadership positions within the Finnish Defence Forces' C5/ICT functions and international roles with EU and NATO. The company believes his expertise will be crucial in advancing the unit's growth and expanding its international reach in the evolving defence and security landscape.
