Digia implements company-specific collective agreement
Software firm Digia has adopted a company-specific collective agreement that increases paid parental leave and introduces a profitability-linked pay model.

Since May 2023, Digia has operated under a company-specific collective agreement rather than the general IT industry agreement. The policy grants non-birthing parents 36 weekdays of paid parental leave, a move intended to promote equality and support employees in balancing work and family life.
The agreement also features a salary model that ties a portion of compensation to the company's financial performance. According to Pia Huhdanmäki, Senior Vice President of HR and Culture, the move aims to align the company's profitability goals with staff well-being, while offering increased flexibility for personal events.
Digia joins a growing number of technology companies in Finland shifting toward company-specific labor agreements. By customizing these conditions, the firm aims to differentiate its employment offer in a competitive market while maintaining structural support for its approximately 1,600 employees.
