Digital Banking Funding Surges in Q2

Investment in the digital banking sector experienced a significant surge in the second quarter, nearly doubling from the previous period to reach $2.6 billion. This growth was largely propelled by three substantial funding rounds.

Ramp secured $750 million in a Series F round, Airwallex raised $320 million in its Series H, and Mercury closed a $200 million Series D round. Collectively, these three deals accounted for over 11% of all capital invested in fintech during the quarter.

Despite the significant increase in capital deployment, the total number of deals declined. This trend suggests a concentration of larger, more strategic investments within the fintech landscape during Q2.

The findings are detailed in CB Insights' State of Fintech Q2'26 report, which provides an analysis of investment and development trends across the financial technology industry.
