Dimension Capital Raises $800M for Third Fund Focused on Science and Compute
Venture capital firm Dimension Capital has closed its third fund at $800 million. The capital will be deployed into deep technology companies at the intersection of science and compute.

Venture capital firm Dimension Capital announced on Tuesday the closing of its third fund, totaling $800 million. This new fund is 60% larger than the firm's previous vehicle, signaling strong investor confidence in deep technology ventures that bridge scientific research with computational advancements.
Founded in late 2022 by former Lux Capital partners Zavian Dar and Adam Goulburn, alongside Obvious Ventures alum Nan Li, Dimension Capital's investment thesis centers on founders building companies at the nexus of biotech and software. The firm's partners have observed a rapid validation of this strategy, with significant growth in companies operating in this specific sector.
Recent investments highlighted by the firm include a leading role in Chai Discovery's $30 million seed round. Chai Discovery, developing AI foundation models for drug discovery, subsequently raised $400 million. Dimension Capital also backed anti-aging startup New Limit and AI company Anthropic, which acquired Dimension Capital's portfolio company Coefficient Bio earlier this year for a reported $400 million.
The substantial size of the third fund, coupled with prior successful exits and follow-on funding for its portfolio companies, underscores Dimension Capital's focus on identifying and scaling businesses that leverage scientific breakthroughs through advanced computing. The firm continues to target opportunities in areas where scientific innovation meets computational power.
