Director Michael Arden manages multiple concurrent Broadway productions
Tony Award-winning director Michael Arden has emerged as one of Broadway's most active figures, balancing several simultaneous stage productions including a revival of A Few Good Men.

Michael Arden has solidified his role as a prominent Broadway director, currently managing a portfolio that includes simultaneous productions of Maybe Happy Ending, The Lost Boys, and the recent revival of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men at Lincoln Center. Working through his production company, At Rise Creative, Arden oversees multiple high-profile projects that require significant logistical coordination.
For the revival of A Few Good Men, Arden sought to present the Reagan-era drama to a contemporary audience, emphasizing its thematic focus on military ethics and leadership. By casting Bradley Whitford in the lead role, Arden aimed for a nuanced portrayal of the material, moving away from established film characterizations to allow for an original interpretation of the script.
Arden’s career, which began in acting over two decades ago, has shifted toward directing and producing. Beyond the shows currently on stage, he maintains an active slate of developmental projects, including musical adaptations of feature films. His approach to productivity remains a focal point in an industry often characterized by intense workloads.
