Directors Academy and ASU Launch Board Immersion Program
Directors Academy and Arizona State University have launched a new immersive program for board members. The program aims to enhance the capabilities of current and future directors amidst a rapidly changing business landscape.
In September 2026, Directors Academy and Arizona State University announced the launch of the 2026 Board Immersion Program. This educational initiative is designed to equip current and future corporate directors with enhanced governance skills for a rapidly evolving business environment.
The program commences with a virtual session on October 16, 2026, followed by an in-person, two-day session at Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business on November 12-13, 2026. The focus is on developing more effective directors capable of navigating constant change.
Founders James D. White and Keith Meyer of Directors Academy noted that while executives dedicate decades to leading organizations, formal preparation for board responsibilities is often lacking. The program bridges this gap by combining academic insights with practical boardroom simulation.
Raghu Santanam, Senior Associate Dean at ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business, emphasized the need for directors who can anticipate change and understand emerging risks. The program intends to foster greater confidence and impact among participants.
To date, over 220 senior executives have completed Directors Academy programs, with alumni serving on more than 160 corporate boards. The immersion program simulates actual board challenges, requiring participants to evaluate risks and make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, mirroring real-world governance scenarios.
