DIRECTV App Now Available on LG Smart TVs
DIRECTV has expanded its accessibility to LG Smart TV users, offering live TV and on-demand content directly through the TV. The app is available on 2021 models and newer running webOS 6.0 or higher.

DIRECTV and LG Electronics have launched the DIRECTV app on LG Smart TVs, enabling users to access the company's entertainment services directly. The app is compatible with LG Smart TVs manufactured from 2021 onwards, running on webOS version 6.0 or higher.
This integration allows LG Smart TV owners to stream live television, access on-demand content, and utilize personalized viewing features without the need for a separate set-top box. The launch coincides with major sporting events, providing fans with immediate access to live sports and other prime entertainment.

"Making DIRECTV available as a native app on LG TVs gives customers more choice and flexibility in how they enjoy our full lineup—across MyFree DIRECTV, Genre and Signature Packs, and TV Everywhere for satellite—through a more customized and personalized experience."
LG highlighted the addition as an enhancement to their Smart TV platform, increasing value for customers. The DIRECTV app includes features such as a "Your TV" carousel for personalized recommendations and quick access to favorite teams, as well as "Mix Channels" for simultaneous viewing of multiple live programs. The service offers various subscription tiers, including Genre Packs for specific content interests and comprehensive Signature Packages, alongside free ad-supported channels.
DIRECTV's flexible programming options cater to diverse viewing preferences. This includes specialized Genre Packs focusing on sports, movies, or family content, and the broader DIRECTV Signature Packages. All offerings grant access to MyFree DIRECTV, a curated selection of complimentary ad-supported channels, which can also be subscribed to independently.
