DJI Introduces First Drone Dock with Automated 25-Second Battery Swaps
DJI has launched the DJI Dock 4, its first drone-in-a-box solution featuring automated 25-second battery swaps. The system is designed for continuous aerial operations, enhancing readiness for public safety and industrial applications.

Chinese technology company DJI has introduced the DJI Dock 4, its first drone-in-a-box solution that allows for automated battery swaps in just 25 seconds. This capability aims to ensure continuous aerial support for various operations, significantly reducing downtime between flights.
The DJI Dock 4 system includes the new Matrice 5TD enterprise drone, equipped with multiple sensors such as wide-angle and infrared cameras, mmWave radar, and LiDAR. These technologies, combined with AI-powered real-time detection, can identify up to 17 different object types, aiming to improve situational awareness and response times in critical scenarios.
The automated 25-second battery swap dramatically shortens the turnaround time for drone deployment. The Matrice 5TD drone offers a flight time of up to 59 minutes and can reach speeds of up to 21 m/s. The dock is engineered to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including temperatures ranging from -40 to 50 degrees Celsius and strong winds.
DJI Dock 4 is positioned for a range of applications, including public safety, infrastructure inspection, and surveying. It also offers enhanced safety features and supports various payloads, such as speakers and spotlights, increasing its versatility for demanding missions.
